Update released
You can now create, retrieve, and list epics from MCP. Build your backlog from epics to PBIs to tasks end to end, right where you are, without switching to the web screen.
🧩 Epics were the one step left to do by hand in the screen
Until now, MCP could only update epics—you couldn’t create a new one, retrieve its contents, or find one in a list. So epics alone had to be set up by hand in the web screen, where you’d check their state before linking PBIs via MCP—your workflow switched over to the screen partway through.
🔗 Create, retrieve, and list epics from MCP
With this update, you can now create, retrieve, and list epics from MCP. Just like PBIs and tasks, epics can now be handled through MCP from end to end.
You can stand up an epic, line up PBIs under it, and go on to tasks—building out your backlog without ever switching to the web screen.
🗺️ New epics naturally land in the “later” lane
We also revisited the default starting lane for a new epic. Ideas you haven’t started yet are now placed by default in the lane for things to take on later, matching the flow of stacking up ideas as they come. The look and feel of the list stays the same as before.
