Update released
"I cleared it, but it didn't clear" is gone—you can reliably empty the fields you mean to. Leave it out and it stays, empty it and it clears, set a value and it's set—edits land just the way you intended.
🧹 “Clearing” a field is applied reliably
When you cleared a field through a connected tool (an external integration), the change was quietly dropped rather than applied. For many fields—story points, priority, sprint, scrum team, the link to an epic, and more—what you thought you’d cleared stayed put. The same happened with some task and epic fields.
With this update, clearing through a connected tool is applied exactly as specified.
You can empty the fields you mean to empty. Even when you edit from your own tools, the result lands the way you intended.
🔢 Clearing story points and body text is applied too
Trying to clear a story point by setting it to 0 was rejected by input validation, so you couldn’t clear it. Emptying the body of an item or task, or an epic’s description, wasn’t applied either.
With this update, clearing a story point, and clearing body text or a description, are applied as specified.
You can reliably return a value or text you once entered back to empty.
🔗 Unlinking from an epic is applied reliably
Even after you unlinked an item from an epic on screen, it wasn’t applied, and the item could stay linked to the epic.
With this update, unlinking from an epic is applied reliably.
You can remove the links you want to remove, keeping the relationship between epics and items exactly as you intend.
💡 “Leave as is, clear, or set” works the way you expect
When editing, the difference between “a field you didn’t specify” and “a field you want to clear” was ambiguous, and the intent to clear wasn’t always applied.
With this update, we’ve aligned the behavior to what you’d expect: a field you leave out keeps its current value, a field you set to empty is cleared, and a field you give a value is set to that value.
Because untouched fields stay as they are, fields you want to clear get cleared, and only the fields you want to change change, you can edit with confidence.
